Blackberry Lemonade Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup fresh blackberries
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice (about 4-6 lemons)
  • 4 cups cold water
  • Ice cubes
  • Lemon slices and fresh blackberries for garnish
  • Mint leaves for garnish (optional)

Instructions:

Prepare the Blackberry Syrup:

In a small saucepan, combine the blackberries, sugar, and 1 cup of water.

Bring the mixture to a simmer over medium heat, mashing the blackberries with a fork or spoon to release their juices.

Simmer for about 5-7 minutes until the sugar is fully dissolved and the blackberries have broken down.

Remove from heat and strain the mixture through a fine mesh sieve, pressing on the solids to extract all the liquid.

Discard the solids and let the blackberry syrup cool.

Make the Lemonade Base:

In a large pitcher, combine the freshly squeezed lemon juice and 4 cups of cold water.

Mix in the Blackberry Syrup:

Pour the cooled blackberry syrup into the pitcher with the lemonade base.

Stir well to combine.

Adjust Sweetness (Optional):

Taste the blackberry lemonade and adjust the sweetness by adding more sugar or water if needed.

Keep in mind that the sweetness preference varies, so adjust to your liking.

Chill and Serve:

Refrigerate the blackberry lemonade for at least 1-2 hours to allow the flavors to meld and the drink to chill.

Serve Over Ice:

Fill glasses with ice cubes and pour the blackberry lemonade over the ice.

Garnish:

Garnish each glass with a slice of lemon, a few fresh blackberries, and mint leaves if desired.

Enjoy:

  • Stir before drinking to ensure the flavors are well-mixed.
  • Sip and enjoy your refreshing homemade blackberry lemonade!

This Blackberry Lemonade is perfect for hot summer days or any time you want a burst of fruity goodness in your drink.

Cheers!
