Tennis star Coco Gauff is under fire for praying after winning the US Open.

Anyone would be impressed by a 19-year-old's ability to win the US Open. What Coco Gauff did there was unprecedented. However, she received a lot of backlash for the choices she made after she won the title.

19-year-old Coco Gauff made history as a tennis player by becoming the youngest woman to ever win the U.S. Open. In 2001, at the age of 19, Serena Williams became the youngest person ever to win the tournament.

Gauff won in three sets against Aryna Sabalenka, 2-6, 6-3, 6-2. Since Gauff seemed to have emerged from nowhere, her victory has catapulted her to international renown

The 19-year-old has only reached two finals in her whole tennis career, and this one was her maiden Grand Slam.

Her celebration of her victory went viral. However, many online users are angry at her because of one specific move she made after learning she had won.

She bent over, hands clasped, and appeared to be praying. The video was shared by ESPN's X (formerly Twitter) feed with the caption, "@CocoGauff took a moment to soak it all in after winning her first Grand Slam title."

Dungy was not happy with what ESPN had to say about Gauff's celebration after the team won the Super Bowl. He responded to their tweet by saying, "I hate to break it to you, SportsCenter but Coco Gauff was not'soaking

She knelt and prayed. In the past, she has made no secret of her Christian religion. What she's doing here appears to be very evident.
