Michigan woman wins $197,296 lottery prize at work

7 September (UPI) Just before her shift began, a Michigan woman purchased a lotto ticket at her place of employment and won $197,296.

In order to purchase a Club Keno The Jack ticket, Shawna Foerster, 40, of St. Johns claimed to have arrived to Bruno's Bar in St. Johns immediately before the start of her shift.

I had $10 in my pocket and was about to start my shift at Bruno's, so I chose to purchase a Club Keno ticket, Foerster recalled. My coworker Jack suggested that I add The Jack to my ticket while I was surveying the terminal; I did so, and the rest is history.

Foerster's simple choice She won $197,296 because eight out of the 20 Club Keno numbers in the drawing were matches with the Jack numbers.

Later in my shift, I scanned the ticket on the terminal, and a receipt printed out stating that I had to go to the lottery office to pick up my win. I assumed I had won $1,000 or so, but I didn't realize I had won $197,296 until after I downloaded the lottery app and scanned my ticket, she added.

Foerster stated that she will use her gains to save money and contribute to her daughter's college fund.

"Winning this reward will change my family's lives forever. It means we won't have to stress as much about having a safety net in case of emergency, said Foerster.
