Mega Millions jackpot rises to $101 million on Friday, Sept. 1.

Will a $2 Mega Millions ticket make you rich? As the lottery says, "it could happen to you."

The prize rose from $52 million to $85 million in a week. This follows months of Powerball and Mega Millions prizes worth billions.

On Friday, Sept. 1, Mega Ball was 8 and numbers were 10-31-42-43-55. Megaplier 2x. No one matched all five numbers and the Mega Ball, therefore the jackpot rose to $101 million overnight. The next game is Tuesday, Sept. 5.

On Tuesday, August 29, the Mega Ball was 25 and the numbers were 9-39-52-61-63. Megaplier 2x.

California won the $1.08 billion Powerball jackpot in July, while Neptune Beach, Florida, won the $1.58 billion Mega Millions jackpot a month later. This lotto grand prize rose from $20 million to the current pot in weeks. If another rollover occurs, the upward trend may continue.

A California ticket won $1.08 billion on July 19, matching all five numbers and the Powerball, the largest jackpot since November's record $2.04 billion.

A Publix ticket in Neptune Beach, Florida, matched all five numbers and the Powerball to win $1.58 billion on Aug. 8. Neither billion-dollar lottery jackpot was claimed.

Like Mega Millions, Powerball tickets cost $2. Common Mega Millions, Powerball, and lottery odds inquiries are below. Good luck!
