California quarterback Caleb Williams is expected to be the top choice in next year's NFL Draft, and Colorado head coach Deion Sanders knows him well.
The prolific Williams earned the Heisman Trophy last year after leading the Trojans to an 11-3 record. The Trojans are Pac-12 contenders again under Williams. The Colorado Buffaloes have emerged into the mix.
Head coach Deion Sanders' Buffs have garnered national attention in recent months. The Buffaloes are 3-0 courtesy to Shedeur Sanders and passionate play. The quarterback skills of Deion's son have garnered praise.
He has risen in draft rankings and might be a top quarterback in next year's NFL Draft. Sanders is more volatile. Coach Prime stressed that Shedeur must be patient. He watches out for him like a coach and parent.
Sanders interviewed Bleacher Report's Taylor Rooks on social media Wednesday. The interview covered Shedeur and his NFL Draft prospects.
You must realize that we're never surprised, Sanders added. “We've discussed every possible scenario with both sons. Jr., one of our three boys, will photograph and perform. We have no surprises.”
Sanders said he sees “a whole lot of other things” beyond what athletes do before they jump. Sanders then discussed NIL and claimed that valuations have shifted there too, unless you're a big NFL Draft prospect. It ends there for Coach Prime.
Sanders added, "But Shedeur don't wanna be 2 to nobody, he don't get down." The Colorado coach termed Williams a ‘phenomenal’ quarterback but added, “Shedeur’s no backseat rider. He drives Maybach. He drives it without a driver.”
Sanders definitely wants his kid to succeed, but he won't hesitate to laud him, even against a brilliant QB like Caleb Williams. It should be a great game when USC meets Colorado in Boulder next Saturday.
